Did you know the newest issue of the Painting World Magazine is now out? The August 2023 issue is filled to the brim with an array of Halloween designs...13 to be exact! The perfect number for a perfectly happy Halloween!

The next two issues of the blog in August will echo the theme of the magazine.

With fall and Halloween blending together as they do you will find the perfect pumpkin study by Amanda Novaes in this issue.

Our art journal challenge for August begins with Part One...a bit spooky but definitely a fun project. For those who don't celebrate Halloween you could easily adjust this to become something different, perhaps a bathroom or kitchen project. Coming up later this month is the Oklahoma Painting Palooza. Be sure to go and check it out, I have been in the past and it's a great show! Remember, if we don't support the conventions they may not be there later.

Speaking of conventions, the APC Expo for 2024 is fast coming together. I am amazed at the wonderful submissions coming in for classes. We had to extend the submission deadline so it will take a bit longer to get the classes juried and get the class lists printed but trust me, it's worth the wait. You can learn more about the convention at apcexpo.net and you can navigate the site easily with our new interfaces.
