Blog Notes Sept. 1, 2020

Summer has passed, so quickly and for many, not in the normal way. This past summer is definitely one for the history books. Let's leave it there and head into a fall season that hopefully will be a bit more normal.
Many events such as conventions, classes, and arts & crafts shows have been canceled but there has been a huge upswing in online classes, projects, and more. Plaid is hosting a weekly painting session on Facebook, often hosted by Andy Jones. DecoArt has free projects on their website. Tracy Moreau has been sharing some awesome projects on her YouTube channel on a frequent basis. If you search YouTube there is an amazing amount of video presentations for decorative painting. There are a lot of projects out there, many provided free of charge by caring artists and designers. Creative Innovations in Painting is offering five free classes in September. There are also some great zoom classes with some reasonable pricing now available online. These are just some things I have found just surfing Facebook and the internet. Please do a search to find all these goodies. I know there are way more than I listed. (Please note - The items listed above were chosen randomly by the editor and are not paid or sponsored links.)
Alise is back with a fun pumpkin and gnome project, done with colored pencils. Be sure to take a look and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try a different media.
Let's do what we can to make this coming Autumn a great one. Take a class, paint a project, do what you can to make this Fall memorable in a different way than our summer was. Stay safe!
