Celebrated world wide it became a national day of celebration here in the US on

March 20, 1998, when the Senate passed a resolution and referenced the preponderance of Scottish people among the Founding Fathers, also claiming that the Declaration of Arbroath, a similar letter calling for independence for Scotland, was the model for the Declaration of Independence.
