Sketch Pad - January 19, 2021

While we all have our favorite art or craft to do, we all need nourishment too!

Occasionally we will share a recipe, be it healthy or just plain tasty, here on the daily blog.

Feel free to submit your treasured recipe for a future daily blog post. Look for more information on that at the bottom of the post.

Today's recipe... Banana Bread. This has been in my family for so long I am not even sure whose recipe it is anymore. I think it was my paternal grandmother's recipe so I am naming it as such.

Burdick Banana Bread

Ingredients -

1/2 cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

3 ripe bananas

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup milk

2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

Directions - Cream butter and sugar together.

Add eggs to cream mixture and beat well.

Mash ripe bananas and add to mixture.

Mix milk and baking soda, add to mixture.

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together, add to mixture.

Stir well.

Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.

Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

This recipe does not call for walnuts but I have added them myself, using about 3/4 cups chopped walnuts, adding them after all items have been mixed in.

To submit just your recipe for inclusion in the daily blog, send it to pwmblogeditor@gmail.com

Attention designers - the PWM Blog is looking for painted projects that incorporate a recipe and something painted that relates, for example... a recipe box and matching recipe or maybe a pie plate and pie recipe, etc. Please send your ideas to the above email.
