The Twelve Days of Christmas!

Has any Christmas song ever offered so much subject matter for painting and artwork as the Twelve Days of Christmas? A song many of us know by heart, it was originally published in England in 1780. It had no music and is thought to have been French in origin. Music was added in 1909 by the English composer Frederic Austin.
